What Liability Limits do you carry on your Personal Auto Policy?
What about your Umbrella Policy Limits? Do you have an Umbrella Policy? What is an Umbrella Policy?
These questions are not sales questions, these are financial questions. Point being that every day in our office we are seeing more and more families carrying very low limits of liability compared to the exposures that are out there. Here are two scenarios we would like for you to consider:
- Values of Today's Autos- How many automobiles are on the road today that are valued over $50,000? What if you had a at-fault accident and you totaled out someone else's car and it was valued over $50,000, would you have enough insurance? More than that, what if you wiped out more than one vehicle, do you have enough insurance?
- Today's Medical Costs- Example you have an auto accident and it is your fault. You hit a car that had four people in it all and all four went to the hospital with moderate to severe injuries. How much of the medical bills and lost wages would your policy pay?
When you have an at-fault accident you are responsible for all of the damages. The money has to come from somewhere. Buying auto insurance is a financial decision, not just the price of the premium, but will it protect you financially if you caused a significant accident.
