Highlights of our Services
You have two service options with our agency. When you choose our agency to be you agent regarding the insurance you automatically get our Proactive Risk Management Services with no additional charges.
For those schools where we are not the acting agent, we can provide our Proactive Risk Management Services on a consultant/fee basis.
Insurance serves and important function of a school's risk management plan. The insurance program should be specifically designed for each school. Other than weather events or a fire, insurance best serves a school as a "last resort" function of the risk management process. Combining this mentality towards insurance along with our Proactive Risk Management services, we are able to provide an insurance program this is prudent and affordable to the school. Insurance can also serve as a financial vehicle to help fund the aspects of a Disaster Plan should one occur.
Special Coverage for Schools -Insurance programs for a school usually include the basic coverage such as Property, General Liability and Umbrella. Below is a list of other coverage that schools should also consider:
Educators Professional Liability Insurance- Professional liability coverage specifically designed to offer protection for the hazards and exposures faced by educators, teachers, and school boards from claims or suits that may result from the acts, negligence, errors, omissions, rendering or failing to render of the professional services of school board members, faculty, staff, aides, or volunteers. Coverage for bodily injury resulting from corporal punishment is also available.
Loss of Earnings and Extra Expense- A time element coverage which pays for loss of earnings or income when business operations are interrupted, curtailed or suspended due to property loss because of an insured cause of loss. Also covered are loss of rents and rental value. Includes reimbursement for additional expenses incurred because of an insured loss
Employment Practices Liability- Coverage for legal costs to defend claims involving sexual harassment, wrongful termination and discrimination including legal liability for such acts
Sexual Misconduct and Abuse Liability- defends and protects against acts and allegations of abuse or molestation.
Directors and Officers Liability- Protects officers and directors of a church against damages from claims resulting from negligent or wrongful acts in the course of their duties. Also covers the church (and even the officers and directors in some cases) for expenses incurred in defending lawsuits arising from alleged wrongful acts of officers or directors.
Accident/Medical/Trip Insurance- Insurance covering medical expenses caused by accidental injury. Negligence is not a requirement for payment. Mainly used by churches with active youth groups and mission trips (both inside and outside the U.S.) These policies typically act as "excess" coverage when the injured party has their own private medical insurance.
Cyber Liability- Refers to illegal, computer-related activity in which computers are the object of an attack (such as denial of service incidents or introduction of viruses); are used to perpetrate crimes; or are incidental to crimes (such as being used to hold or process illegal information). Exposures to loss faced by organizations that conduct business online, particularly loss caused by unauthorized entry into their systems by hackers.
Proactive Risk Management Services- IPPR
Identifying, Preventing, Preparing and Responding to a situation or disaster is the most crucial factor for a good risk management program. Insurance is only used "after" something happens, risk management procedures "prevent" and/or "reduce" the effects of a disaster "before" they happen. It is good risk management procedures that reduce direct costs such as insurance premiums and reduces the indirect costs such as but not limited to; students not returning, loss of donors and damage to the reputation of the school. It is highly likely that the indirect costs can far exceed the insurable costs when a disaster occurs.
Our agency will work hand and hand with you to go through the entire IPPR process. We will provide the TOOLS, RESOURCES, EXPERIENCE, and CREATIVITY that will help your school maintain a safe and growing environment.
